WELCOME TO ALPHA 1
My name is Chris Brown,
and I am the owner and operator of
Alpha 1 Dog Behaviour and Training.
I’m a qualified and experienced dog behaviourist and trainer, backed by a Diploma in Animal Psychology and over ten years of experience internationally, working with all types of dogs, their behavioural issues and their owners.
Having worked closely with many clients and rescue organisations over the last decade, and solving many ‘unsolvable’ cases, I am confident that I can give you the tools and training you need to live in harmony with your dog.
If you would like to build a stronger relationship with your dog and help them stay in a calm, balanced state of mind, or you are noticing problem behaviours in your canine companion (big or small), get in touch. In person and online dog training sessions available, plus workshops & group sessions.
1:1 CONSULTATIONS
training IN YOUR HOME
This is the most effective way to get results fast, and my preferred method. I’ll come to your home, assess your family and your dog in your everyday environment, discuss your concerns and help you understand and rectify problem behaviours. You will learn how to be an effective, confident leader for not only your dog, but also your family and in your community.
These sessions usually last 1.5 – 2 hrs.
Out of Auckland, but still need help? No worries! With today’s tech, and with the help of my two personal dogs, I can get an insight into any issues you’re experiencing and demonstrate how to stop unwanted behaviours. This online dog training session is a great way to learn how to set rules and boundaries for your dog, if the distance is too far to meet in person.
These sessions usually last 1 hr.
BOOT CAMPS
training AT MY HOME BASE
Set aside for the most difficult cases, your dog will live with me and by the same rules as my personal dogs. Your pup will join our balanced pack for weekly socialisation, to learn respect and new routines, and eliminate problem behaviours. During the boot camp period, I will give you the tools and training you need to continue to live a harmonious life with your dog.
Bootcamps usually last 4-12 wks.
PACK SOCIALISATION
in AUCKLAND
Your dog will join an established pack each week to learn proper manners and how to better socialise in a fully fenced, off-leash environment. They will have an opportunity to understand where they belong within the pack and find their true selves along the way. This space is adjacent to other animals (chickens, pigs, goats) and exposes the dogs to different distractions, while in a training environment.
These sessions last half a day (3 hrs of exercise + travel time).
For those who share similar needs and are at a similar stage of their dog training journey, I offer group training classes. This includes but is not limited to reactive on leash, group socialisation, and those pups in their teenage stage who are showing signs of training regression. These take place in an fully fenced outdoor area. Leave an expression of interest and keep an eye on our socials for updates.
These sessions usually last 1.5 – 2.5 hrs.
SEMINARS and workshops
globally
This is a live demonstration of me in my element. For larger groups, I will showcase how to understand and correct unwanted behaviours, using calm and assertive energy. You will learn about dog and human body language cues, see live examples and revisit successful case studies showing a variety of different dogs and problems. I am open to travelling anywhere to demonstrate my knowledge and help all the dogs of the world.
Seminars can last anywhere from half a day to multi-day workshops.
